SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Site Medical Director is responsible for assuring that all patients receive quality medical care. The Site Medical Director monitors the effectiveness of all physicians and physician extenders to assure that the highest standard of healthcare is provided at the lowest possible cost.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Acts as the primary day-to-day physician interface with the Corporate Medical Director and the Director of Client Operations.
  • Supervises the physician and physician extender staff including interviewing candidates, hiring, orientation, discipline, performance appraisals, and other personnel related duties.
  • Assures that the Medical Center physician component is fully operational during center hours, and that physicians are available as scheduled.
  • Develops and maintains effective partnership with Practice Administrator to assure Client, Corporate and Site goals and objectives are achieved.
  • Assumes a medical leadership role in medical emergencies in the center including the initiation of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, stabilization and transfer to an appropriate community provider as necessary.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Successful completion of a registered physician education program and valid MD or DO state license.
  • Board certified or eligible in a primary care specialty required.
  • One to three years of experience in a physician leadership position.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills essential.

    We are seeking a Collaborative Physician for one of our Corporate Health clinics in San Antonio, Texas!

    This Corporate Health clinic is open Monday through Friday from 9a-5p and is staffed with a Physician Assistant, Health Unit Manager-RN and a Medical Assistant. This clinic treats acute/episodic illness and injury, as well providing the site with appropriate wellness initiatives. This position will be required to provide the clinic with on-site visits approximately 32 hours a month/8 hours a week. Days and hours in which the clinic can be visited are flexible.

    Responsibilities:

    Provide and assure that patients receive appropriate exams and care, as well as other medical care that is appropriate in the ambulatory care setting for an adult population

    Collaborates with Physician Assistant

    Assure that referrals are made in a timely manner to out-of-center specialists or other providers when medically necessary

    Assure the patient's treatment is monitored and coordinated in concert with the nurse practitioner or lead clinician resulting in case management of care in the ambulatory setting

    Assure the documentation as represented in the medical records meets established standards of documentation

    Assume a medical leadership role in medical emergencies in the center including the initiation of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, stabilization and transfer to an appropriate community provider as necessary

    Requests consultations with the Take Care Health Systems Regional Medical Director

    Work cooperatively with the other members of the medical center management team to assure efficient and quality medical center operations

    Assist the office and clinical management in responding to patient concerns about medical care issues, including investigating patient complaints and completing incident reports

    Assure that patient rights to privacy and confidentiality are strictly maintained

    Other duties appropriate and necessary to the efficient operation of the medical center

    Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school
  • At least five years of post-residency clinical experience in an ambulatory care, or emergency room setting
  • At least three years experience managing an ambulatory care, emergency med, or urgent care clinic
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Texas
  • Must be Board Certified in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine
  • Must have Texas state Controlled Substance license and federal DEA certification
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
  • Medical Review Officer (MRO) Certification is a plus!

    Requirements:

  • Current TX license
  • Board Certified
  • CPR certification with ACLS a plus

This clinic treats acute/episodic illness and injury, as well providing the site with appropriate wellness initiatives. This position will be required to provide the clinic with on-site visits approximately 32 hours a month/8 hours a week. Days and hours in which the clinic can be visited are flexible.

    Responsibilities:

    Provide and assure that patients receive appropriate exams and care, as well as other medical care that is appropriate in the ambulatory care setting for an adult population

    Collaborates with Physician Assistant

    Assure that referrals are made in a timely manner to out-of-center specialists or other providers when medically necessary

    Assure the patient's treatment is monitored and coordinated in concert with the nurse practitioner or lead clinician resulting in case management of care in the ambulatory setting

    Assure the documentation as represented in the medical records meets established standards of documentation

    Assume a medical leadership role in medical emergencies in the center including the initiation of cardiopulmonary resuscitation, stabilization and transfer to an appropriate community provider as necessary

    Requests consultations with the Take Care Health Systems Regional Medical Director

    Work cooperatively with the other members of the medical center management team to assure efficient and quality medical center operations

    Assist the office and clinical management in responding to patient concerns about medical care issues, including investigating patient complaints and completing incident reports

    Assure that patient rights to privacy and confidentiality are strictly maintained

    Other duties appropriate and necessary to the efficient operation of the medical center

    Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school
  • At least five years of post-residency clinical experience in an ambulatory care, or emergency room setting
  • At least three years experience managing an ambulatory care, emergency med, or urgent care clinic
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the state of Texas
