Successful Physician will be Board certified and residency trained in Emergency Medicine. This unique opportunity will offer the right candidate a rewarding clinical practice and an opportunity to provide leadership to a highly trained and experienced group of professionals. A minimum of nine clinical shifts and four administrative shifts required per month for the medical director. Additional shifts will be compensated at an hourly rate.
Compensation Model is structured with a base salary (MGMA Based) plus Directorship stipend. Comprehensive benefits including malpractice. Flexible, organizational structure with our current single hospital physician group.
Duties: 60% Clinical vs. 40% Administrative Committee Involvement/Appointments: Medical Executive Committee Performance Improvement Critical Care Committee
This new Medical Director will lead our progressive group with managing the high acuity Emergency Department with an annual volume of 50,000 patients per year, resulting in approximately 20% of those in annual admissions to the hospital. St. Francis is a well-established and active tertiary cardiovascular referral & stroke center. The Emergency Department has 27 beds and provides 55 hours of physician coverage per day including fast track. There are 8 full-time physicians available on the acute side, and the fast track is covered 9AM-11PM by 2 full-time physicians and 4-5 part-time community physicians. St. Francis is a 292-bed facility with 10 OR suites, minor procedure room, 22 ICU beds, and an in-house Hospitalist/Intensivist program. Limited night call, no trauma, pediatrics, or Obstetrics. This new Director will work collaboratively with our Administrative Director of the Emergency Department and Critical Care Services.

5 physician Hospitalist program that is growing in need of 1-2 additional Hospitalists One of the physicians is a trained Nephrologist who is our current Intensivist and we are looking to add a second by the end of 2007. In addition, four family medicine trained physicians are practicing and we are looking to expand to 6. This is an employed position with St. Francis. Hours of service are currently 6AM - 9PM. The St. Francis Orthopaedic Institute provides excellent patient care, research, and education. High quality orthopaedic care is provided by an accomplished team of nine physicians specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of the full range of orthopaedic problems, such as shoulder and elbow injuries, foot and ankle problems, fractures, trauma, occupational injuries and sports-related injuries, and surgical and medical management of spine problems including pain management.
