St Francis

St Francis Hospital has established a reputation for high-quality and compassionate care over the past 56 years. It is one of Georgia’s finest hospitals and the region’s premier provider of cardiac care. As a private, not-for-profit community hospital, it is owned by the citizens of the area that it serves.

St. Francis offers a full range of inpatient, outpatient and emergency services and the only open heart surgery program in our region through The Patrick Heart Institute of St. Francis. St. Francis Hospital was the first hospital in the area to perform open heart surgery; the first to perform balloon angioplasty, stent placement and automatic defibrillator implant procedures; and the first to perform atherectomies and homografts (human tissue implants).

St. Francis Hospital opened in 1950 as a 154-bed facility on 21 acres of pasture land. It has grown into a 292-bed facility that provides a wide array of services that meet the health care needs of West Georgia and the surrounding area, including emergency services, rehabilitation, home medical equipment, women’s services, an outpatient center, and a cancer resource center. Additionally, Franciscan Woods offers 60 studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments for assisted living and respite care.

The Bradley Center of St. Francis is an 84-bed mental health facility that includes outpatient counseling, addiction treatment, inpatient and day treatment, support groups and educational programs.

St. Francis has approximately 1,400 employees and 350 board-certified physicians.
